The trailblazer believes there is always new ground to be discovered. As a child they understood that life is about experiencing things for the first time, learning through trial and error and gradually making discoveries. With an owl as a companion, navigating in the dark is not an issue. A seal provides flexibility by moving to the rhythm of the sea. The seal, which lives in the sea but gives birth on land, symbolises the spiritual (water, dreams and plans) becoming physical (earth, turning ideas into reality). The pioneer loves to dream but does not ever stop there.
Perhaps the trailblazer is part-seal and part-human like the Selkies in Celtic mythology. Regardless, now is the time to break glass ceilings, blaze trails and venture into terra incognita. Uncharted territory is never smooth and easy to traverse; it is overrun with weeds and full of unexpected holes, curves and sharp stones. The resistance you feel is proof that you are indeed overcoming or acquiring something. The path ahead is sometimes difficult to discern because it does not yet exist. You create it with every step you take.
There are various ways to enter unknown territory. You can acquire skills and habits you did not have in your youth. You can break a pattern that has been in your ancestral line for generations making you feel like you are no longer a link in the chain and thus breaking the pattern. You can unlock something in society on a collective level making it accessible to others. It is also possible that after several lives you will finally put a talent or capacity to use again (the trailblazer believes in reincarnation or transmigration of the soul), or even that you are doing this for the very first time and experiencing a breakthrough on a soul level. The trailblazer is most fond of the latter. They are there to encourage you: Do it! Challenge yourself! Be a pioneer!
