The blue hour
In the early hours, Avital traverses a flat Dutch landscape covered in sleet whilst clad in her metal armour. Her name, derived from Hebrew, means ‘my father is the dew’. Avital is uncertain of her mother’s identity, but she suspects her to be Aurora, the Roman goddess of dawn. It is the last hour before sunrise known as the blue hour when the sky and surroundings take on a blue hue. The owls accompanying Avital and the cat she holds close, all nocturnal creatures, go to rest while the diurnal animals are yet to awaken.

The sun is already shining in the sky but not yet on the earth. The convergence of night and day, of sun and moon, creates pinkish-orange fragments that adorn the union of the celestial and the earthly. The coitus of the sky god and the earth goddess brings about creation. The Law of Gender states that everything that exists contains both male and female energy. Avital wants to know: have you concluded the hieros gamos, the sacred marriage, within yourself? As a human being, have you developed your masculine and feminine sides and joined them together in harmony?

For the matter at hand you need both components: both the Eros and the archetypal female aspects such as receptivity, cooperation, listening, intuition, dreaming, the intelligence of feelings and the wisdom of the body and nature; and Logos, the archetypal male aspects of order, rationality, speech and action. Tap into these receptive and active qualities, even if society discourages you from doing so because it is not considered as typical for your gender and let them work in harmony with one and other.

Do not reach out to external sources or outsource your qualities to a partner or loved one of the opposite sex; everything you need to determine your direction and address this issue is inside you. Keep it all within.
