The moon, full and waxing, poetically embodies the cyclical, renewing nature of all life – the hermetic Law of Rhythm. It begins as a crescent, waxes to a full moon then wanes to a dark moon before expanding again as a new moon. Everything follows a certain rhythm and when we reach the end, we start anew. Everything has its tides, rising and falling, ebbing and flowing
Energy moves in circles and spirals. The moon, like the sun that rises and sets, follows a circular path – a cycle that repeats eternally. In a tornado or hurricane, energy spirals inwards or outwards from a central point. Human consciousness also develops in a spiral form. Through adventures, experiences, practice and sometimes struggles we move towards our own centre, our deepest core. Do not think you have made no progress if you encounter the same issues again and again: we are often confronted with the same themes, and with each cycle we come closer to their essence.
This card suggests that you are in the final phase of a process leading you to the heart of the matter. You are approaching something essential. Be observant and accept the lessons and new perspectives that arise as precious gifts. After that, you can move on, and the theme will lose its urgency.
The moon also wants to convey that balance lies in alternating phases and that it is important to value everything and not reject anything. She aims to be a shining example of this. You spend your entire life in the same place: inside your head and body. Do not let absolute right or wrong dominate there, no strict prohibitions or commandments. Consider everything within you as part of the same unit. Observe the swing of the pendulum in a relaxed manner. Just observe; it will move back in the other direction on its own. All the ups and downs are just the ebb and flow.
